Can new windows improve the energy efficiency of my home in both the winter and summer? Absolutely!
Many people think that new windows only help in the winter. This is mainly due to the fact that the inefficiency of old windows is most noticeable in the winter. You often hear people saying that their windows are “drafty”. Cool air entering your home is much more noticeable than warm air. About 42% of the typical homeowners energy spending is on heating and cooling their home. In climates that require cooling, windows have represented a major source of unwanted heat gain.

In recent years, windows have undergone a technological revolution. It is now possible to significantly reduce solar heat gain and improve comfort while providing clear views and daylight. Many people wonder how a product can keep your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The answer is Low E (emissive) glass.
Low E Glass
is a coating applied to a thermal window that reflects radiant heat. In the winter time when you are heating your home, the radiant heat bounces off your windows and back into your home. Equally important, radiant heat from the sun in the summer time bounces off your windows as well.

What does all of this mean?

It means that you can not only reduce your heating costs, but also your cooling costs. We’ve found that a typical home in our area costs an average of $300 per month to heat and cool.

Most of our customers report a savings of 20-40% (or $60 to $120 per month).
